Tact Switch Repair for the MPC500 MPC1000 and MPC2500
Fixing and replacing non-responsive tact switches can bring a dead worthless unit back to life. This does take a bit of skill as if your soldering level is not up to par you will ruin the board, and replacements are not cheap!
A good soldering iron station clone can be found for cheap, but don’t cheap out on your solder and parts.
We hope to have full MPC refresh kits up shortly for a fraction of the cost you would pay elsewhere, but for now, here is the DIY below.

What are the specs for lcd screen? There’s tons of cheap 16×2 lcd’s online but I’m not sure about the specs. Thank you!

Any of the 5v 16 pin screens should work. I would recommend buying a few from different companies for testing purposes. I have a broken mpc500 that I use to test screens as I don’t think I would want to plug in a random screen in my good unit and have something go bad.
