MPC 500 Pad Upgrade DIY

Fix those non-responsive MPC500 MKP25 MPK49 Pads!
Quick DIY for fixing the velocity and pad sensitivity in the MPC 500, MPK 25 and MPK 49.
Simply applying electrical tape will give these pads the responsiveness that they should of come with from Akai. Is the fix better than just buying FatPads for the MPC? You tell me.

Hi, do you have experience with pad corx? I found them cheap af in a local store and it seems like a good option since they come with fat pads. Thanks!

Hi,
If you are referring to the “corx” that MPS Stuff used to sell that are actually made of thin cork board, my understanding is that they slowly fall apart and make a mess in the machine. They now just sell red rubber circles labelled as “corx”, I have a set but never used them. Personally I like the electrical tape because you can adjust the layers till it feels just right to you.
